The year of no Airwaves

The year of no Airwaves

Along with many others, this is the day and the week that I would have been flying to Iceland for Airwaves. This would have been 17 years in a row for me. Being at Airwaves is always such a pleasure. For me, it’s a total break from normal life, a chance to be somewhere totally different and re-charge in the best possible way. After so many years there is a lot about it that is familiar and routine but there are always, always brand new people, sights and artists to discover and enjoy – things to return home talking about, and spending money on.

It can’t be replaced of course. I’m excited about next week’s 2 day Live from Reykjavík event, happily handing over the money to be able to watch some great acts and hopefully ease the financial pressure for that sector in Iceland a little.

I’m going to try to do a little something as well. I’ve got a lot of videos from over the years that I haven’t ever put online anywhere. I’m going to sort out the best of them (be warned, these are amateur quality at best!) and put them on youtube and on here over the next few days. Do check back!
