Iceland Airwaves 2009 Update

So, It's been a busy few days for Airwaves 2009. I've got my press pass 🙂 and I've just booked my flights and my festival pass directly from the main website at http://www.icelandairwaves.is – they've also got something called a 'friends of airwaves' card which gets you discounts on merchandise, food, drinks etc. (of course I did!).
And after my recent post about international acts, I'm really interested to see a rapidly increasingly number of confirmed acts. Some I've heard of, some I haven't. I don't think (I can't remember) seeing any of them before and I can tell you that I'll be devoting a lot of the next week to listening to all of these artists. Right now, I can't get awesome Norwegians Casio Kids, "Fot I Hose" out of my head. Iceland Airwaves has a great track record of identifying great bands for the festival, looks like another good line-up is on the way in 2009.
I'll be back soon with a few hints and tips, and the iceblah build-up will be underway (surely I can't beat 25 interviews last year). For now, here's the full list of International bands confirmed…

hi there!
i’m seriously considering going to airwaves this year but am struggling to find any decent information on it outside of the official site, like places to stay, what it’s actually like etc. could you share any wisdom with me/reccommendations?
thanks if so!
hey there. with so many bands, how do you get to choose which to go listen to? I’ll be going to the festival for the first time this year and was wondering what your tips are, suggestions, etc. cheers, elzio
