Well at least I think so. The festival must be in some doubt, given the horrible financial problems in Iceland (and everywhere else), and the rumours that some international artists haven't been paid yet for the 2008 version. Article here,
OK – so this sounds like promising news from the organisers and I will begin to get excited. So if we think that it will go ahead, when will it be – again there's some confusion.

Does anyone know? For sure? Some of us need to book holiday from the day job, and flights, and a hotel! For now, I suggest (a) believe the Icelandair site and (b) having a browse through the photos of previous, glorious Airwaves festivals at IMX. More (certain) news here soon I hope.

I doubt it, sadly. Mr Destiny still owe monies to many people and they can’t book big bands until these have been cleared. Their rep. is also zero in the industry.
Really? Of all of them, I’d believe Icelandair. But it would be a major surprise if Mr. Destiny was the promoter. What artists would want to participate, unless they were paid in advance?
My gut feeling is that this festival, if it happens, will be significantly different than the previous three. Perhaps smaller and more locally focused? Not a bad prospect.
