In addition to the sure-to-be-great Sigur Ros gigs at Alexandra Palace this week, and not forgetting their Icelandic support band For A Minor Reflection, two other great Icelandic acts hit London in the next seven days.
First up, tonight, the mighty Skatar (pictured) play at the excellent Windmill venue in Brixton. I saw these boys for the third or fourth time in October and I guarantee that if loud, fierce rhythms and a proper sense of the spectacle is your preference, then you should get along there tonight. In addition they will be in Cadiff tomorrow (Sunday 16th) at the swn festival, supporting Future Of The Left. Great show!
And then, the wonderful Mugison and his Mugiboogie band return to the UK to play what will be loud, crazed and raucous shows. You know how I feel about these guys, fantastic songs brilliantly performed with a sense of humour right the way through. If you love good music and good times, here's where you need to be…
Nov 17th – London Monto
18th – Cumberland Arms, Newcastle
19th – Nice n Sleazy, Glasgow
20th – Academy 3, Manchester
21st – Cargo, London
They will also be back in the UK to play at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in Minehead on the 6th December (along with Ghostigital). Awesome.
One last thing, if you like Icelandic music (yep!) and you like free music (yep!), then follow this link to IMX where a whole album's worth of free Icelandic electronica can be grabbed. For absolutely nothing! Go on, off you go… x
