This is good news, but annoying at the same time. I’ve heard some great new Icelandic music in the last few days, a band called Blindfold
– beautiful songs on their myspace, one called Sleepless Nights and another called Wait especially. A review on Amazon which calls them a cross between Sigur Ros and Massive Attack is very very appealing to me. And they feature a guy called Biggi Hilmarsson, who is also in a very nice band called Ampop. It’s all good, I should be delighted. And I am… except… they’ve been going for at least 3 years – they had an album out in 2005. I’ve got about 120 albums from Icelandic artists from Amiina to XXX Rottweiler so how did this slip through the net? Plus, they’re based in London! How can this happen? I’ve let myself down! I hope to see them very soon, upcoming London dates are on the myspace, and I’ll get that CD ordered.
Blindfold – why couldn’t I see them?
