Today’s listening – I’ve just got a recording of the Sigur Ros concert in London last week. Fabulous stuff as ever. Lucky me I hear you say, one of my very favourite bands doing a nice intimate gig in my home city. Lucky lucky me! Except… I wasn’t there. It is true to say they are the sort of band that I would gladly plan a holiday around, but they were too late and I had a prior engagement with a Greek beach (frogs and snakes too as it turned out). Still, I have my recording, I’ve had my holiday (ooh idea for future post, best tunes or albums in the sunshine?) and I’ll see them again soon, they’re back in London in November. So you see it’s true, you really can’t have it all… but I can listen to what I missed back in a very rainy London town, and it sounds divine, whatever the weather.
