Oh this is very sad, I just heard that the bar Batteríið, or Organ is we used to know it, is gone – burned down overnight.
The photo to the left is stolen from the lovely okidoki.is website, and they agree with me that the venue had a knack of generating a great atmosphere. Without checking back I remember ghostigital in 2009 being amazing in there, and the year before Reykjavik! and Skatar were incredible. It is so sad to see the state it is in today.
So Airwaves will be in need of another great venue this year, hopefully we'll have news of Iceland Airwaves 2010 soon, the website has gone offline for now – that worries me!
